[ Hank scents at his neck and starts to press his teeth against the mark, biting softly to feel that warm, perfect connection they share. This is definitely more than just alpha and beta stuff, but now isn't really the time to talk about it. ]

[ But man, Hank is just so happy Gavin is alive, he definitely loves him. Just the way his dumb compliment sends his heart skipping is proof enough. ]

[ Gavin coos at the teeth, his heart wanting to pop from the affection that overwhelms him. He's been too hesitant to name it because if he names it then it's truly real but... he loves him too. Has loved him to some degree since he was a fresh faced rookie, but it's so deep and true now. He loves Hank.

Gavin grins, cheeks flushing even more. (He definitely needs to brush his teeth.) ]

Least you didn't shave the sides of your head on an impulse. [ He brings his other hand up to fully cup Hank's face. ] And hey. You've been going at this alone for too long, let me look after you too.

[ Well, now they both know they love each other. Now they'll proceed to never admit it until Beth tries to kill them again. Great. ]

[ Hank smiles, enjoying Gavin's touch and just the fact that he's alive. He barely even feels tired when it's just the two of them like this. They probably need to leave and clean up and do a million other things, but right now, Hank is just happy Gavin is alive. ]

[ At least the toilet automatically flushes... Gavin just rubs the pads of his fingers across Hank's face gently, smiling a sweet smile that looks almost foreign on his face.

If you'd told him a year ago that Hank would hold him close while he faced near death, he'd laugh. But here they are. He hopes that if the time comes, Gavin can take care of him in return. He wants to make him happy. Fuck. Fuck, he's so fucked.

Gavin snickers. ]

Shouldn't I be thanking you? You've saved my ass twice now. And my ass is pretty great.

[ Look at him, already back to normal. He can't help himself and he leans in to press a little kiss to the corner of Hank's mouth. ]

[ Good to know Gavin's back to his usual self. Hank's still shaken from having almost lost his mate. The kiss is nice, it warms him and helps him calm down. Gavin is okay. He's alive. Hank would definitely kiss him if he hadn't just totally thrown up in front of him. ]

[ Yeah he definitely needs to gargle a gallon of mouthwash, hence why he didn't just go for it. He snickers, trailing a thumb across Hank's bottom lip. ]

[ Hank sighs. Yeah, okay, Gavin knows just how to get him back to normal. He's a lucky bastard. ]

I dunno, I heard you were pretty smart, too. The whole package.

[ Not because they're dating or anything, but because he has such a great beta. Yeah Hank begins to stand, pretty much trying to hoist Gavin off the floor. ]

He's still a little rosy cheeked, but he won't turn down spending time with Hank. ]

[ Take out the beta so the alpha is distracted? Seems like a sound strategy to Gavin. ]

[ Yep, he dressed up nice just for you, Gavin. But right now his mind is pretty far from what he was thinking when he got dressed up nice. Instead Hank wraps an arm around Gavin's waist, just holding him and smelling him and nuzzling his neck again to really nail down the fact that he's alive. ]

Yeah. Yeah... I'll give her a call. She's already in deep shit, attacking an officer. She doesn't know Fowler knows, so she probably thinks we wouldn't press charges, so we've got some leverage.

[ God though, this is Beth they're talking about... his Beth. How could she do this? ]

[ Ah... you keep spoiling him like this, Hank. He's gonna get even more insufferable at this rate. He purrs, tilting his head back with a soft smile. He's alive, very alike. His blood rushes happily in his veins. ]

[ Alpha instincts can't stop and won't stop. Maybe they're werewolves so they heal much, much faster, but part of him wants to make sure Gavin gets enough water and eats some fresh meat to replenish what he lost. ]

She tried to kill you, Gavin. I know the work she does is... important, but she could've at least fucking tried talking to me before she went and attacked my fucking pack.

[ He doubts scaring her will work, but he will certainly try. ]

[ Hank sighs. That touch feels so nice. He isn't about to tell Gavin to stop. ]

[ Fuck indeed. Hank sighs again, reaching up to stroke Gavin's neck, his fingers grazing the bite. He needs to take care of Gavin first, the rest can wait. ]

Okay, let's get out of here and get you some food. I'll call Beth and... fuck, I would've invited her over before, but after this shit show she might try to kill us if we meet her in private. There's gotta be some way I can talk sense into her.

Gavin shivers as Hank's hands touch his scar, sighing happily. His instincts want his alpha to take care of him, go to his home and be protected, fed and warm. God, he's gotten clingy. ]

Yeah, one thing at a time. I'm sure Connor's told Fowler about all of this. [ Then he licks his teeth. ] And I can brush my teeth, ugh.

Maybe... I know there's no other werewolves in Detroit. It's kind of a dead zone, since it's such a shit hole.

[ Of course now Detroit is technically Hank's territory even if he doesn't realize it. Beth could have been called to handle him, or to kill whoever started encroaching on the area, but it's not like Hank is interested in taking over Detroit. He just wants to care for his pack and be done with it. But maybe he should've talked to somebody instead of giving off alpha vibes every time someone walks up to Gavin and looks at his ass.

Really, if he knew what he was doing this would be so much easier. Hank finally releases Gavin entirely, but he stays close enough for Gavin to still touch him. He'd never want to move out of his touch. ]

Right, we might need him for backup, worst case. [ Thank rA9 or whoever the fuck for Connor, honestly. ] I got some toothpaste at my desk if you need some. We'll head home after you're all set.

[ The one who's been looking at his ass most of the time has been you Hank, you big dumb cuddly alpha. But what's done is done, time to deal with whatever happens next. ]

Yeah, it'll work out... [ He trails his hands away, finally. ] Guess it was a little naive to think it'd just always be us.

[ Whoops, that's a little too intimate. He clears his throat and turns on his heel to start walking back out into the main floor. ]

[ He is certainly all those things. And ok, maybe Gavin's words cut him deep in his heart and he wants desperately to make it be just them, but they'll have to deal with whatever comes. ]

No one's gonna come between us. Not Beth, not... other werewolves. No one. ]

[ They can do it together. Hank knows they can—he's an alpha of his word. He'll keep Gavin safe no matter what. ]

[ Hank follows him out, intent on at least keeping an eye on Gavin even if he doesn't loom over him the whole time. See? He's got this. It's fine. At least if Gavin takes a minute, Hank can get the update from Connor. ]

[ The certainty in his voice makes a warm shudder roll up his spine. Fuck. How did he go so long trying to act like this was just werewolf stuff? Fuck. Fuck, he's so far gone for Hank Anderson it's scary.

But he looks back at him with a little confident smile. ]

Yeah, I know. I'm not afraid.

[ With that, he heads over to his desk to do a couple quick things before they go. And start chewing a handful of gum to get the taste out of his mouth for the time being.

He pulls out his phone to text Eli real quick that he's fine now, and thank you. He can only imagine how much the big nerd has been fretting about him... but he probably already knows he's alright. Dumb brother, that he loves so much.

He heads back over to Hank. ]

Alright, let's go.

[ Trust me, Hank won't be truly calm until he's got Gavin in his house, warm and safe and protected from any hunters or anyone else.

At least he saved Gavin. At least they're gonna be alright. Hank couldn't have lived with himself if he'd lost him. Maybe it really is love, when all he can think about is Gavin even considering the knowledge that his ex-wife is in town. Fuck, he's gonna have to deal with that.

For now though, he debriefs with Connor and gives him the spiel to give Fowler. Connor nods, offering to guard his house if necessary. Hank waves him off, knowing the stubborn robot will probably do it anyway, but it's nice, too. It's like family. Even getting Kamski's help in the nick of time had felt like that too.

Who would've thought a fucking werewolf would get a second chance at having a family? Hank's still reeling a bit from it, but having Gavin back helps him focus once more. Gavin has a way of taking up all his brain power in a way that might be more than just an alpha thing now that Hank thinks about it. ]

Great. Let's get going. We can get drive-thru burgers or something on the way home, I'm starving.

[ The Hovering Alpha Vibes are real, but they make him feel warm and fuzzy. As well as just knowing Hank gives a shit about him. His heart soars a little. Everyone gets a second chance now, it seems. Funny how all that works.

Gavin's stomach gurgles at the mention of burgers and he huffs. ]

That sounds good to me. I'm starving after all of that. [ He grins toothily. ] Double meat and extra large fries?

[ A gremlin!! ]

[ He loves this gremlin. He's very loud and alive and Hank wouldn't have him any other way. He pats Gavin on the back as they make their way out, enjoying that toothy grin and even the sound of his stomach. It all means he's alive, and that's what Hank cares about. He's happy to feed his beta even if it end up being greasy drive-thru food. ]

[ Loud and alive is the only way to be, as far as he's concerned. He leans into his touch and once they're out and in the parking garage, he reaches over to grab his hand and give it a squeeze. ]

[ Hank smiles. Wow, they're holding hands. Wow. Hank's super okay with it. They need to get going but they're having a moment. ]
